Germán Frers
His name is closely associated with well-known brands such as Swan and Wally. From the Studio Frers, founded by Germán Senior, with headquarters in Buenos Aires and a branch in Milan has produced some 1,200 complex rips and designs, from dinghies to megayachts, from America's Cuppers to futuristic concepts.
Germán Frer's highly successful designs can be found at all major international regattas. He began his career as a draftsman in his father's design office. In 1965, he moved to New York to join the yacht design firm of Sparkman & Stephens (S&S). During the three years he worked with them, he rose to the position of chief designer within the firm, designing
a series of models that later became classics in their respective yacht classes.
