Born in Stockholm in 1942. As a starboat sailor, he won an Olympic bronze medal in Tokyo in 1964, and a silver medal in 1972. In 1969 he became world champion in the Star class, and three times he won the world title in the six-boat class.
He used his popularity and collected 6 million crowns for a Swedish AC participation. He designed the challenger yacht "Sverige", which he also skippered.
As an industrial designer, he also made a name for himself in the nautical industry. In addition to sailboats and yachts, his designs for the motorboat brands Nimbus and Maxi are particularly well known. Also worth mentioning are the C55 and the Swedish Match Racer 40, which he developed along with a transport container.
