Arnauld Psarofaghis

The now 36-year-old Swiss sailing pro grew up in Corsier, just a few meters from the shores of Lake Geneva.

His parents and uncle are keen sailors and took him out on the water as a toddler. He attended his first summer sailing camp at the age of seven. By the age of 21, he had already won a world championship title in the foiling moth class as helmsman.

Two years later, he was earning his living by racing in various boat classes and working as a sailmaker at North Sails. In 2014, he was voted "Male Sailor of the Year".

In 2016, he joined Team Alinghi, with whom he won several D35 trophies, including the world title in the GC32 Racing Tour.

Until recently, sport was almost everything in Arnaud's life. Things have been different for around two years now - since the birth of his son. In October, the supreme discipline of sailing is set to crown this series of successes: victory in the America's Cup.
